Publication Policy
AUTHORSHIP
In attributions of authorship of research carried out jointly by members of the Goldblum group, the name of the individual who performed the majority of the research will appear first.
The Principal Investigator (PI)’s name will appear second, except when the PI themselves did the majority of the research, in which case they will be the first author.
If applicable, the names of any research mentor(s) who played a major role in the research and writing will follow. Additional contributors are listed in alphabetical order.
When contributing to a research manuscript led by another collaboration, we follow the publication policy of that collaboration.
EXPECTATIONS
We operate under the following expectations:
- The first author and PI contribute to the research as well as writing and editing of the original and revised manuscript drafts.
- All coauthors must review the manuscript prior to submission and provide substantive feedback.
We follow the Science authorship guidelines. Specifically,
- Each author is expected to have made substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work;
- OR the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data;
- OR creation of new software used in the work;
- OR have drafted the work or substantially revised it;
- AND has approved the submitted version (and any substantially modified version that involves the author’s contribution to the study);
- AND agrees to be personally accountable for the author’s own contributions and for ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work, even ones in which the author was not personally involved, are appropriately investigated, resolved, and documented in the literature.
